Greetings world,
As some of you likely already know, I am one of the “Space Riggers”. The Space Riggers are a group of people who colaborate to build and improve the structure of the NASA CoLab island inside Second Life. Working on a variety of projects and experiments harnessing the potential of virtual worlds or in ISEs.
This is a primarily volunteer effort as it seems so many of our worlds most noble efforts are. I created this video to showcase some of what is being done by NASA and other groups inside Second Life. I had a modest budget of zero, and a somewhat challanged computer at the time. I look forward to making new videos with my latest machine. You can see the difference in my last video for Sophie & Ives.
I do think this video provides the visualĀ element that so many need when they are hearing about NASA CoLab in Second LifeĀ for the first time. All things aside I made this out of my passion for the space program and bringing it closer to every person on the planet. We can’t all be astronauts, and we can barely dream of actually making it into space personally during our lifetimes.
While millionares and highly skilled professionals may be able to take the leap currently, I have big doubts about getting there myself. Add another layer of that and you have people with disabilities such that even money cannot hope to take them to space. This video is for all of us who will have to watch from the sidelines. It is my hope through technology such as this video shows the potential for, we can all have the best chance of feeling like we are involved in a space mission.
I bring you a lot in this video, however, there is so much more to see and to dream.
Second star to the right my dear space friends!
